ABOUT TGA

Tiger Goalkeeping Academy (TGA) is a year-round specific training academy that seeks to develop goalkeepers and educate them about the tactical and technical part of playing the position of a goalkeeper. Our goal is to develop player’s skills technically and enhance their tactical awareness through game realistic training within a competitive environment.

The TGA coaching staff is made up of professional goalkeeper coaches who are dedicated to the development of each and everyone of our goalkeepers. All our coaches are educated and goalkeeper specific licensed, and they continue to educate themselves each year by attending goalkeeper specific classes, workshops, or are working towards getting their next license. Not only are coaches qualified to teach the goalkeeper position, but each coach is made sure to have had an extensive playing background at the highest club or collegiate level.

TGA does not just want to train goalkeepers, but we want to develop each player and help them reach their goals. Through group training, clinics, camps, or private lessons, TGA is dedicated to serving and developing every player that walks through our doors.

OUR MISSION

TGA’s mission is to develop and educate all goalkeepers, and to expand and grow the soccer goalkeeper community in the Chicagoland area. Like no two tigers have the same stripes, we understand each goalkeeper that comes to us is also different. We provide focused and intense training that’s proven to develop goalkeepers technically and have a greater understanding of the game tactically.

TGA HISTORY

In 2015 Tiger Goalkeeping Academy was an idea that co-founders, Chris Taborn and Ryan Totsch, had to supply goalkeepers in the Kankakee County area where there wasn’t any. The goal was to first bring high school players in and help them get to the college level, but both coaches realized the need of quality goalkeeper coaches extended far more than just high school players.

In 2016 Tiger Goalkeeping Academy fully launched by hosting a week camp in the Bourbonnais area where less than eight goalkeepers featured. Through marketing, coach and player education, and many long days, today TGA has expanded our regular training, camps, and clinics into the south Chicagoland suburbs and south Chicago area.

Today, TGA has an experienced and professional coaching staff and has had the pleasure of coaching hundreds of goalkeepers. Being very active on social media and have huge engagements with players and parents, we have been able to reach and interact with goalkeepers outside of Chicago and the U.S. Ryan Totsch is no longer apart of the TGA family, but Chris is moving the academy in the right direction and continuing to develop goalkeepers and helping them reach their dreams.
